We are seeking a Greenkeeper to join our team.
The Royal Queensland Golf Club is the premier golf club in Queensland.
Situated at Eagle Farm, this private golf club provides a premium golfing and social environment for its members and guests.
The Club has an 18-hole Championship Course, driving range and a world class teaching facility with state-of-the-art golf simulation equipment.
With plenty of projects on the horizon including hosting the **** PGA Tournament, hosting golf at the **** Olympics and the design and construction of a new short course, the Club offers job enrichment for our team of staff.
An excellent opportunity exists for a driven individual to join the Royal Queensland Golf Club team in a Greenkeeping role.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities will include:
Operating and/or maintaining a wide range of turf machinery and equipment
General green keeping duties
Safe and efficient operation of all mowing equipment
Setting up course for day's play
Bunker maintenance
Pest identification and control
Irrigation system maintenance and management
Assisting in the training and/or supervision of other employees
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
To be successful in this role you will have:
Proven experience in a similar workplace
Strong communication skills
Certificate III in Sports Turf Management
Valid Drivers Licence
Pesticide Application Licence
Knowledge of management and maintenance of greens, fairways, and roughs.
Knowledge of use and operating standards of equipment and tools used in golf course construction and maintenance work.
Knowledge of safe use, mixing and application of chemicals and commercial products.
Knowledge of the game of golf, golf rules and methods of play.
Ability to anticipate personnel, equipment and material requirements related to golf course maintenance and repair assignments.
Ability and knowledge to lay out irrigation patterns, drainage patters, construct tees and/or greens.
Primary starting time is 5am-2pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 5am-9am Wednesdays.
Weekend overtime is required on a rolling roster.Additional overtime will be required throughout the year for special events and busy periods.
