We are on the lookout for an Architectural Discipline Lead to provide architectural design leadership across Perth Airport's New Terminal Program.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee architectural design consultants and guide the delivery of high quality design outcomes.
About the role
Lead the management of architectural design consultants to ensure design deliverables meet project requirements, operational needs and programme milestones.
Provide architectural design governance and assurance throughout all stages of project development.
Review and assess architectural documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements, technical standards, regulatory obligations and approved design strategies.
Act as the key point of contact between Perth Airport and architectural consultants, fostering productive and collaborative working relationships.
Coordinate engagement with internal stakeholders,
airlines, federal agencies, external authorities and specialist advisors to support informed design outcomes.
Work closely with project teams and discipline leads to ensure architectural solutions are integrated with broader project objectives, operational considerations and construction requirements.
Monitor design risks, opportunities, costs and programme impacts, supporting effective decision making and value driven outcomes.
Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance design quality, stakeholder engagement, project processes and overall project outcomes.
About you
Degree qualified in Architecture, Design or a related discipline with significant experience in architectural design, design management and project delivery.
Demonstrated experience managing design consultants and coordinating complex multidisciplinary design teams within major building, infrastructure or aviation projects.
Strong understanding of design management principles, consultant management, design assurance processes and project governance requirements.
Proven ability to evaluate design solutions, stakeholder requirements, programme implications, cost impacts and project risks to support sound decision making.
Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with consultants, operational teams, contractors, regulatory authorities and external agencies.
Strong knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, regulatory frameworks, sustainability principles and Safety in Design requirements.
Experience using project information management systems ie Aconex Able to manage complexity, balance competing stakeholder needs, drive accountability and contribute commercial and operational insight to design outcomes.
