We are looking for an experienced CNC Technician for our manufacturing plant based in Keysborough.
With safety and quality at the forefront, you will become a key contributing member of the production team efficiently operating, programming and maintaining the FANUC controlled CNC milling machines to meet production schedules.
A typical day will see you:
Responsible for the safe setup, routine operation support, and tooling changes, first-off quality verification and routine maintenance of FANUC-controlled CNC milling or drill-tap machining equipment.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics to produce parts to precisely and efficiently to specifications
Front-line troubleshooting including performing routine maintenance, calibrations and adjustments on machine tools to keep them operating efficiently
Supporting production and engineering teams with prototyping and custom tooling requirements
Maintaining detailed production records and quality control documentation
Collaborating with the engineering and production teams to identify process improvements
Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality
Ideally you will have:
Demonstrated commitment and understanding of safety in the workplace
Relevant working history as a CNC Machinist or in a similar role within a manufacturing or engineering environment (2-3 years)
Demonstrated competence in machine setup, tool changes, datum/offset setting, first-off inspection, basic programme edits and production troubleshooting
CNC Certification and/or equivalent hands-on experience
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and work orders
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Team player with an ability to communicate clearly across all levels
Strong and proactive troubleshooting skills complemented with working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
