Registered Nurse - Renal Dialysis
Mudgee Health Service About the role The Registered Nurse working in a Dialysis Unit must possess strong clinical and technical skills, including a thorough understanding of renal physiology, dialysis procedures (haemodialysis and peritoneal), and vascular access care such as managing AV fistulas and central lines.
They must be proficient in monitoring patients before, during, and after treatment, recognising complications like hypotension or infection and responding effectively in emergencies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for educating patients and families, providing emotional support and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Time management, attention to detail, and adherence to strict infection control protocols are critical in a fast-paced environment.
Additionally, a commitment to ethical practice, accurate documentation, and ongoing professional development is vital.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of the role is the favourable shift times, which support a healthy work-life balance.
Our Unit provides services 6 days per week.
