We are looking for a passionate Youth Mentor who can make a real difference in the lives of at-risk young people, aged between *****, within the newly funded Engage South West Program.
This program aims to support young people who are at risk of entering, or have engaged with, the juvenile justice system, with the objective of providing early intervention, mentoring and tailored support that empowers and assists young people to achieve positive outcomes in their lives.
About the Role
As a Youth Mentor, you'll be responsible for:
Providing early intervention support to young people who are at risk of disengagement, offending or other adverse outcomes
Engage, build and maintain strong positive relations with young people and families through appointments, activities and outreach
Collaborate effectively with key external stakeholders including schools, WA Police, community organisations, Employment providers, Youth organisations and others to achieve positive outcomes
Case manage young people while providing a range of services including, assessing skills and barriers, creating support plans with achievable goals, monitor and review progress all while providing one-to-one mentoring, guidance and support
Contribute innovate ideas for the advancement of young people towards goals including employment, training and encourage pro social engagement and lifestyles.
Collaborate with Transition to Work where possible

Bunbury and Collie, WA
Employment Type:
Full Time, Ongoing
Hours:
8.30am – 5.00pm – Monday – Friday (flexibility availability)
About You
We're seeking someone who is:
Passionate about supporting youth who are at risk of engaging with the youth justice system, or have engaged with
Skilled in case management, mentoring, and creating SMART goals for young persons




Experienced in employment or community services, with strong stakeholder engagement skills
Culturally competent, particularly in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants
Comfortable engaging with WA Police and community organisations to build strong partnerships
Able to build partnerships with employers, WA Police, and community organisations
Organised, adaptable, and focused on achieving positive outcomes
Must hold a Cert IV in Youth Work or equivalent
Must hold a Working with Children's Check or willing to obtain with Workskil's Support
Holding a current driver's licence and able to travel across the South West Region
Committed to safe work practices, continuous improvement, and culturally safe service delivery
