The Role
Are you passionate about continuous improvement and keen to work hands‐on with real manufacturing processes?
As a Process Improvement Specialist at our Streets Ice Cream Factory in Minto, you'll play a key role in improving how some of Australia's most‐loved ice creams are made.
Working closely with Production and cross‐functional teams, you'll use engineering principles, manufacturing data and structured problem‐solving to improve efficiency, reduce waste and strengthen product quality across the site.

This 12-month fixed‐term opportunity STARTING NOVEMBER **** has been created to support business continuity while an existing team member undertakes a strategic project assignment.
What you'll be responsible for
Lead process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality across the ice cream manufacturing process.
Own and drive the Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Focused Improvement (FI) pillars within the department.




Implement and sustain Run to Standard (R2S) practices, including data collection and analysis, loss prioritisation, problem‐solving, SMED, and defining centreline settings and process parameters.
Identify, prioritise, and eliminate process losses using ICMS methodologies, including BPCD, AM, FI, and PM tools.
Conduct data-driven analysis - such as reliability studies, touch mapping, and loss analysis - to identify opportunities that enhance performance and minimise waste.
Build process capability and improve process control by defining equipment standards, creating technical documentation, and supporting equipment optimisation.
Train and coach line crews on technical standards, restoration of basic conditions, and best‐practice operating methods.
Develop and implement solutions that streamline processes, eliminate failures, and reduce manual intervention.
Lead and support the adoption of digital tools and technologies, ensuring capability building and effective use across teams.
Collaborate with cross‐functional teams and contribute to site pillar activities to deploy best practices and deliver long‐term operational improvements.
We're looking for someone who
Has experience in manufacturing process improvement, operational excellence and continuous improvement methodologies and can operate confidently in high-volume FMCG production environments.
Brings strong skills in:
Continuous Improvement (CI) and process optimisation using methodologies such as FI, AM, RCA and SMED
Manufacturing data analysis, reporting and problem solving using tools such as Excel and Power BI
FMCG, manufacturing or engineering experience with strong knowledge of process control, equipment functionality and centreline management




Project management and delivery of operational improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce losses and improve performance
Ability to train, coach and influence operators, technicians and cross‐functional stakeholders
Strong technical capability, with the ability to simplify complex concepts into practical solutions
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills across diverse teams and work environments
Highly organised, self-motivated and results-driven, with strong planning and execution skills
Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to achieving business outcomes
Thinks end‐to‐end and takes ownerships for results
Is comfortable working in a fast‐moving, evolving organisation
Values collaboration, clarity and low-ego ways of working
