Salary range Grade 4: $92,600 - $105,064 (this range is subject to increase following current EBA negotiations)
Lead, coach and support a team delivering high quality teacher registration services.
The Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) is seeking an experienced and people-focused Team Leader to support the delivery of effective, timely and high-quality teacher registration and customer support services.
This role will lead a team of Teacher Engagement and Registration Officers within a high-volume, complex regulatory environment.
With strong focus on people leadership, you will build team capability, and create a positive and collaborative team culture.
About the role
Reporting to an Assistant Manager within the Teacher Engagement and Registration Branch, you will manage a team approximately 4-6 direct reports




You will oversee the team's day to day organisation and performance, provide coaching and guidance, and support team members to manage complex applications, enquiries and escalations.
You will also undertake quality assurance activities as well as help identify and implement improvements to service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
lead, coach and support a team of Teacher Engagement and Registration Officers to deliver high-quality and timely services
set team priorities, allocate work and monitor performance against agreed standards
provide guidance on complex applications, enquiries, escalations and sensitive matters
manage performance and capability through regular feedback, development planning and targeted coaching
undertake quality assurance and apply legislation, policies and frameworks to support consistent decision making and effective risk management
identify and implement improvements to processes, systems and service delivery
prepare high-quality reports, briefs and correspondence on complex matters.

You are an experienced team leader who enjoys supporting people to perform at their best.
You bring a practical and approachable leadership style, with the confidence to manage performance,



provide constructive feedback and support the team through complex or sensitive work.
experience managing team performance, including performance development plans, capability building and the resolution of performance concerns
ability to create a positive team culture while maintaining accountability for quality, timelines and service standards
robust judgement and experience managing complex enquiries, escalations or sensitive customer matters
ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and operational frameworks and translate them into effective risk management practises
strong relationship management skills and the ability to motivate and support multidisciplinary team.
