Our client, the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC), is seeking a capable and motivated Communications Officer to develop and deliver high-quality communications initiatives and engagement activities.
FRDC is a statutory corporation that invests in fisheries research and development to support the sustainability of aquatic sectors and ecosystems.

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Affairs, the Communications Officer will have a variety of responsibilities across several core functions.
You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, managing multiple priorities while ensuring communications align with FRDC's strategic objectives.
This role requires a proactive and adaptable professional who can take a strategic, organisation-wide perspective and effectively facilitate collaboration across teams to deliver key initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and oversee communication-related projects




Oversee the development or corporate communication tools and publications such as website and social media content
Develop relationships with key stakeholders, including industry, media, government and community stakeholders.
Respond to ad hoc queries from stakeholders and the broader community.
Contribute to the development of strategies, plans, and corporate documents
Manage FRDC's corporate style guide
Develop and contribute to articles and photographs
Coordinate FRDC presence or participation at external events
Develop and maintain relevant policies and procedures to ensure transparent operations across staff
Manage web content to ensure it is current and accurate
What You Will Need
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Enthusiasm and energy for the work and priorities
Proven experience in corporate brand engagement
Experience working with graphics and web platform packages
At least five years of experience managing communication activities
Experience delivering compelling content for stakeholders and media
A bachelor's degree or higher in science, natural resource management, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field
