About the Role
Opportunity to join a small, well‐established engineering business on the outskirts of Newcastle, looking for a formally qualified accounting qualified to join the team in a part‐time capacity.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and being close to the operational heartbeat of a business.
Starting as an Accounts Assistant / Financial Accountant, you will support day‐to‐day finance activities, working alongside an existing team member, and gradually take on responsibilities currently managed by the Company Secretary.
This is a long‐term development opportunity for someone who wants to grow their scope and influence within a stable, hands‐on setting.
Key Responsibilities
Support accounts processing including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and journals
Month‐end support including reporting and ledger maintenance
Payroll assistance and award/EBA interpretation
Compliance and governance support as duties transition from the Company Secretary
Document management and statutory record keeping




Liaising with internal stakeholders and external advisors
General finance administration and process improvement
About You
Formal accounting qualifications are essential (Degree, CA/CPA or working towards)
Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance administration
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
Comfortable working in a small, close‐knit engineering environment
Ability to learn new responsibilities over time
Confident communicator with solid organisational skills
Experience with BusinessCraft would be well regarded
