Carpentaria Shire Council is seeking a qualified and motivated Diesel Fitter/Mechanic to join our Engineering Services team based at the Normanton Depot.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive team maintaining Council's fleet of heavy vehicles, mobile plant and fixed plant equipment. If you enjoy problem-solving, take pride in producing quality, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role
Working as part of Council's Engineering Services team, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing Council's fleet of fixed and mobile plant to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and operational.
The successful applicant will be based at the Normanton Depot, however, will be required to work at various Council work sites and remote camps throughout the Shire. As such,



you must be willing and able to travel and drive unaccompanied for extended distances in remote locations.
About the Candidate
A recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate.
HR Driver Licence (preferred).
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
The ability to complete maintenance and repair work efficiently and to a high standard.
The ability to identify potential mechanical issues and take preventative action.
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
A positive attitude with a willingness to continually learn and develop your skills.

Classification & Salary
Classification: LGO Level 3 Outdoor
Salary: $94,****** - $***** per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience), plus superannuation and applicable allowances in accordance with the Carpentaria Shire Council Certified Agreement.
