Payroll Officer (ASO2)
to join a large government shared services payroll team. This is an excellent opportunity for an administration or payroll professional looking to develop their skills within a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

About the Role
Working within a dedicated payroll team, you will play an key role in supporting payroll operations for a large workforce. The team is responsible for payroll data entry, employee record maintenance, payroll processing, and responding to payroll enquiries.
Your responsibilities will include:
Processing payroll transactions and pay-related activities
Maintaining and updating employee payroll records
Processing new starters, employee changes, transfers and terminations
Reviewing and coding timesheets
Processing leave applications and payroll adjustments
Investigating and resolving payroll queries
Reviewing payroll reports and ensuring data integrity
Collaborating with team members to achieve daily targets and deadlines
Maintaining a high level of accuracy in a high-volume environment
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Previous payroll experience (desirable)
Experience using Chris21 or a similar payroll system (desirable)
Strong customer service experience, ideally within a call centre or high-volume environment
Accurate data entry skills (minimum 40 words per minute)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
Proven ability to meet strict deadlines
Reliability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic
Mandatory Requirement
Current National Police Clearance (issued within 12 months)
