Build a finance function. Don't just maintain one.
This is a rare opportunity to join an Indigenous-owned Australian FMCG business at one of the most exciting stages of its growth.
Cooee Foods Australia is a rapidly growing, multi-entity food group built around native Australian ingredients. Our brands include
Cooee Native Superfoods

We're now looking for an experienced Finance Manager to work directly with our CFO and help build the finance function that will support our next stage of growth.
If you're looking for a role where you'll genuinely influence the business—not just report on it—this is it.
About the role
Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll become the operational backbone of our finance function across multiple entities.
This is far more than a traditional Finance Manager role. Alongside owning the finance operations, you'll gain exposure to strategic finance that most accountants don't see until much later in their careers.
You'll work alongside the CFO on areas including:
Board reporting
Commercial finance
Cashflow strategy
Banking and funding
Financial modelling
Future capital raising initiatives
Business planning and growth strategy
You'll have genuine ownership, visibility and the opportunity to help build systems, processes and controls from the ground up.
Key responsibilities
You'll be responsible for:
Owning the month-end close across multiple entities
Preparing consolidated management reports
Managing a rolling 13-week cashflow forecast
Payroll oversight and compliance
BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG and statutory reporting

Workers Compensation and regulatory compliance
Supporting budgeting and forecasting
Business partnering with operational leaders
Managing and mentoring the Bookkeeper
Improving finance systems, controls and processes
Supporting audits and year-end reporting
About you
We're looking for someone who enjoys being hands‐on while also wanting to grow into a broader commercial finance role.
You'll bring:
CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion)
2+ years' experience in a senior finance, management accountant or financial accountant role
Robust month-end and management reporting experience
Solid Australian tax and compliance knowledge
Excellent Excel and financial systems skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
A proactive mindset and genuine curiosity to improve processes
Experience within FMCG, manufacturing or multi-entity businesses will be highly regarded.
Why join Cooee?
This role offers opportunities that are difficult to find in larger organisations.
You'll enjoy:
Working directly with an experienced CFO
Exposure to commercial finance and strategic decision making
Genuine mentoring and career development
A seat at the table with senior leadership
The prospect to shape and build a growing finance function
Flexible hybrid working arrangements (predominantly work from home)
Joining a growing Indigenous-owned Australian business with purpose, momentum and exciting ambitions
Salary & Benefits
$110,000 - $125,000 + Super
Discretionary performance bonus
Hybrid / flexible working
Career progression and mentoring
Opportunity to grow with a rapidly scaling business
