An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse to join the Medical Unit at Singleton Hospital.
We have temporary and permanent full-time and part-time positions available, offering flexibility to suit your lifestyle and career goals.

From your first day, you'll be supported by experienced Team Leaders on every shift, a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator available Monday to Friday, and an approachable Nurse Unit Manager who is committed to helping you succeed.

What You Will Be Doing
As a Registered Nurse within the Medical Unit, you will provide safe, evidence-based and person-centred nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised nursing care.
Caring for patients across acute medical, long-stay and palliative care settings.
Recognising and responding appropriately to deteriorating patients in accordance with NSW Health policies and escalation pathways.
Working collaboratively with medical officers, allied health professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team to achieve the best patient outcomes.
Administering medications and treatments while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.




Supporting patients and their families through all stages of their healthcare journey.
Contributing to a positive team culture and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
This role operates on a rotating roster including late and night shifts.
About you
We're looking for a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse who enjoys working within a collaborative team and is committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Sound clinical assessment skills and the ability to recognise and respond to deteriorating patients.
A adaptable approach and willingness to care for patients across acute, long-stay and palliative care settings.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to person-centred care.
An interest in developing leadership skills, with experience as, or a willingness to work towards becoming, a Team Leader.
Essential requirements:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA

Additional Information




Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract.
All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
If your contract ends before the agreed completion date, you may be required to repay a portion of the incentive.

To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.

An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.
Job share - part time arrangements will be considered.
This position is full time; however, part time-job share arrangements may also be considered.
