FRIENDLY GROCER SANDSTONE LAKES Golden Eagle Logistics & Transport Pty. Ltd. trading as Friendly Grocer Sandstone Lakes is seeking a skilled and experienced Retail Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of its community-focused grocery and convenience store. The Retail Manager will oversee store performance, inventory, purchasing, staff management, merchandising, customer service and operational compliance.
The position requires strong retail management capability and the ability to manage a diverse product range, including groceries, fresh and packaged food, deli products, takeaway items and other convenience retail products. Task & responsibilities Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the grocery and convenience store, including sales, staffing, customer service and store presentation. Determine the appropriate product range, stock levels and service standards according to customer demand and business requirements. Manage purchasing, ordering and inventory control for groceries, fresh food, deli products, beverages, takeaway items and other retail products.
Monitor perishable stock, product quality, expiry dates, stock rotation and wastage to maintain appropriate food quality and profitability. Liaise and negotiate with suppliers regarding product availability, purchasing costs, delivery schedules, promotional offers and stock replenishment. Develop and implement pricing, merchandising,



promotional and local marketing strategies to increase sales and customer engagement.
Monitor sales performance, store budgets, operating costs and financial transactions to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Recruit, train, roster, supervise and evaluate retail employees to ensure effective store coverage and service delivery. Establish and maintain store procedures relating to cash handling, point-of-sale operations, inventory management and daily administration.
Maintain attractive and commercially effective product displays, promotional areas and store presentation standards. Manage customer enquiries and complaints and maintain a high standard of customer service. Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, employment and other applicable retail regulatory requirements.
Oversee the operation of additional store services, including coffee, deli, takeaway food, Lotto and Scratchies, in accordance with applicable procedures and regulatory requirements. Qualification & experience AQF Diploma or higher qualification in Retail Management, Business, Management or a related field; At least 2-4 years of relevant full-time work experience. Demonstrated experience managing a grocery, supermarket, convenience store or similar fast-paced retail establishment.
Experience managing inventory, fresh or perishable products, purchasing, budgets and sales performance. Strong leadership,



staff supervision, rostering and team development skills. Excellent communication, organisational and customer service abilities.
Sound commercial awareness and the ability to analyse sales and operational performance. Experience using point-of-sale systems and inventory management software. Understanding of food safety, workplace health and safety and general retail compliance requirements.
Experience managing Lotto or similar supplementary retail services will be highly regarded. About Company Golden Eagle Logistics & Transport Pty.
