Costerfield Operations, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated in Central Victoria, east of Bendigo and surrounded by numerous towns within a 50km radius, offering a variety of residential options.
Our current operation runs an underground mine and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold and antimony. The mine's workforce consists of over 250 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.

About The Role
Reporting to the Geology Manager, the Senior Resource Geologist plays a key leadership role in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant resource estimates while leading and developing the Resource Geology team.
Based at Costerfield, you will be responsible for the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of resource models, ensuring high-quality geological data supports both operational and strategic decision-making. You will work closely with technical and operational teams to provide reliable resource information and drive best-practice resource estimation processes.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Lead, mentor and develop the Resource Geology team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture and building future capability through coaching, succession planning and recruitment support.
Provide technical leadership in geological resource modelling, estimation, reconciliation and reporting, ensuring compliance with JORC and industry best practice.
Develop, maintain and continuously improve resource models, geological datasets and QAQC processes to deliver accurate, reliable resource estimates.
Identify and support infill and resource conversion drilling programs to enhance resource confidence and mine planning outcomes.
Manage geological contractors and ensure work is delivered safely on schedule and to a high standard.
Champion a strong safety culture through proactive hazard management, WHS compliance and participation in emergency response activities.




Collaborate with operational, technical and external stakeholders to communicate priorities, manage risks and support broader business initiatives.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Bachelor of Science (Geology) or equivalent
7+ years' experience in a geology role, ideally within underground mining
Demonstrated experience in resource estimation and reconciliation
Strong skills in geological interpretation and modelling software
Proven experience in project delivery and contractor management
Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring and developing team members
High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and compliance
Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
A proactive, safety-first mindset
