About the Role
As part of a select crew dedicated to the Aggerate, Concrete, Quarrying & Construction Material Industries, you will undertake technically complex Conveyor belt splicing and replacement activities on fixed and mobile equipment in a wide range of locations across South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales. As a residential role, your base location in Coopers Plains with a fully stocked warehouse will support the varying hours and weekend work needed to ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
Performing hot and cold splicing on steel cord conveyor belts, fabric conveyor belts, solid woven PVC conveyor belts.
Completing conveyor belt installations, change-outs, pulley installations, belt tracking, lagging and roller replacements.
Diagnosing conveyor system faults and carrying out repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
Co-ordinating on-site projects to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with client expectations.
Liaising with customers and supervisors regarding job progress, technical solutions and project outcomes.
Maintaining accurate service records,



safety documentation and job reports.
Participating in site travel, shutdown work and emergency breakdown call-outs as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience in conveyor belt splicing within the mining or bulk materials handling industry. (Desirable)
Experience working with steel cord, fabric, woven and PVC conveyor belts. (Desirable)
Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding ability.
A commitment to delivering quality workmanship and maintaining high safety standards.
The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
Qualifications
Current Australian Driver Licence
Certificate IV in Polymer Processing (Desirable)
Working at Heights
Confined Space Entry
Forklift Licence (desirable)
