About the Role:
VU TAFE is seeking sessional trainers within the Cyber Security & Digital Technologies Department to teach the Certificate III in Information Technology and the Certificate IV in Cyber Security.
Candidates should demonstrate current industry experience in:
Cyber Security methodologies and practices
IT networking
AI
Position Key Duties:
Deliver high-quality training and facilitate learning across the Certificate Ill in Information Technology and Certificate IV in Cyber Security programs.
Deliver engaging learning experiences that support student success in both face-to-face and online environments.
Administer competency-based assessments, evaluate student performance, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with VU TAFE, training package, and regulatory requirements.
Support students throughout their learning journey, promoting participation, retention, and successful course completion.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities including resource development, validation, moderation, and curriculum enhancement.
Work collaboratively with teaching teams and industry stakeholders to ensure training remains current and industry relevant.
Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and quality assurance processes as required.
Facilitate learning by establishing educational and assessment strategies to suit a range of student, client needs and industry contexts. This includes delivery F2F, and on-line, blended and in diverse settings including within enterprises and the community.
Establish and maintain a positive learning environment and undertake assessment of student performance in accordance with the requirements of the relevant curriculum/training package in a competency-based framework including within the workplace.
Salary: Teaching $***** per hour/ Non-Teaching $***** per hour

About You:
Our teaching team is looking for someone:
Who possesses or is willing to obtain Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE*****, TAE***** or TAE***** or can provide proof of enrolment in TAE*****)
With a qualification and experience within the Cyber Security & Information Technology umbrella.
Demonstrated technical experience in Cyber Security, including penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, ethical hacking methodologies, Kali Linux, security tools, and incident response practices.
Robust knowledge of Information Technology infrastructure, including networking, operating systems, cloud technologies, system administration, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and contemporary industry best practices
With current Employee Working with Children Check or be able to obtain
With a minimum of 2 years industry experience to be able to bring your knowledge and experience to the classroom
With excellent communication skills and "can do" attitude
With relevant skills in Microsoft office, Microsft Sharepoint and record keeping
Available a minimum of 4 days per week (and evenings for online classes if required)
