Today, with five operating plants across five states, Boortmalt is ideally positioned to access Australia's premium barley-growing areas, ensuring the delivery of high-quality malt to our brewing and distilling customers locally and also to export markets in Asia and South America.
We are seeking a Production Technician to join our Minto team. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be an integral member of the production team.

You are a great communicator and problem solver and enjoy a fast-paced environment knowing that safety is the cornerstone of all we do.
You are open to learning about becoming a Master of Malt and able to adhere to processes and procedures across a wide range of activities.
Requirements
Responsible for the monitoring of process conditions to ensure malting objectives set by the production manager are achieved. The Production Technician will rotate through all aspects of the malt production process and hygiene activities and ensure that any breakdowns or perceived problems are communicated to the Maintenance Department promptly and then work closely with maintenance on troubleshooting.
Identify opportunities for energy efficiencies and work to energy roadmap (ISO *****). Monitor and record energy use of key SEU equipment to compare against targets.

Assist with the creation and evaluation of risk assessments and standard operating procedures.

Contribute to team efforts to meet set targets while operating within budget guidelines.
Responsible for coordinating of hygiene staff activities and taking part in daily hygiene duties.
Contribute to the development of a food safety culture.
Adhere to processes, procedures, and directions in relation to food safety and quality management.
Ensure plant HACCP, Quality and Continuous Improvement systems are followed and requirements (FSSC ***** & other) are met.
Contribute to daily and long-term problem identification, analysis, root cause identification and action resolution.
Able to join us on a rotating 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off roster, working 12-hour shifts. Weekend and public holidays are included in the roster.
What we're looking for
Minimum 1 year experience working in a similar position within the Food, Beverage or Manufacturing industry
Relevant technical, dairy or science qualifications are desirable but not essential
Previous experience in operating manufacturing equipment
Demonstrated experience working continuous improvement principles is desirable
Excellent interpersonal English communication skills
Adaptable and able to contribute positively to the team environment
Physically fit to participate in site activities
Basic computer skills
Experience as a mechanical fitter is highly desired
