Aluminium Industries (Ai) is looking for an experienced CNC Machine Operator to join the aiFAB team at our Dandenong South facility.
The role
Reporting to the aiFAB Production Manager, you'll set up and run CNC machines to drill, rout and mill aluminium components. Working from CAD drawings and work instructions, you'll program machines, produce parts to spec, and keep quality and safety front of mind.
What you'll do
Prepare and load aluminium and parts onto the machines
Supervise machines during operation and adjust as needed for optimal results
Inspect and measure finished parts against project requirements
Check and maintain machinery daily
Program machines as directed, including from STP/DXF files and CAD drawings
Complete job documentation and time/cost reconciliation
Keep the work area clean and safe
Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
What you'll need
Proven experience as a CNC operator in a manufacturing environment
Experience running 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines
Confident reading and interpreting CAD drawings
Able to create programs from CAD drawings and STP/DXF files
Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills
Able to stand for extended periods and lift metal to load/unload machines
Comfortable with MS Office
Able to work autonomously and stay sharp under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Solid work ethic and a team player
Valid driver's licence

Hours
Monday–Thursday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm (15 min morning tea, 30 min lunch)
Friday, 7:00 am–1:00 pm (15 min morning tea)
