The Role
MSF Sugar is seeking a detail-oriented and hardworking Safety & Training Administrator to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This exciting opportunity is based at our Mulgrave Central Mill, located approximately 20 minutes from Cairns.
This position will be responsible for working collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results in relation to overall safety objectives.
This position will also be responsible for safety and training activities as a team member, facilitating safety and training meetings and committees, and coordinating risk assessments and safety administration duties.
Key Responsibilities
Toolbox meetings held regularly and recorded
100% of WH&S; audits completed
Teams working to safe systems of work
Maintaining the safety management system (STEMS) and providing appropriate support in relation to the safety management system/data
Analyse safety statistics and compile safety reports for our South Johnstone Mill and Farms
Assist with scheduling safety-specific activities (audits, D&A; testing, toolbox talks, training, etc.)
Assist with monthly safety reporting for our South Johnstone/Tableland sites and MSF Group Safety reporting
Assist in WorkCover claims by liaising with relevant parties and maintaining appropriate records
Escort injured workers to medical centre and liaise appropriately with medical staff and other relevant parties as required




Assist with the development of return to work plans, suitable duties plans and other relevant documentation to ensure a smooth return to work process
Liaise with Group and site-specific safety policy and procedure development, formatting and publishing
Assist in hazard identification, inspections, audits and training
Assist in addressing actions identified
Perform any other duties as may be defined by the Safety and Environment Coordinator, Site Manager or Group Safety Manager.
About You
Previous experience working in a similar working setting
Experience in auditing and analysing large amounts of information
High proficiency in Microsoft Suite
Attention to detail and accuracy in relation to record keeping
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly developed time management skills with the ability to prioritise daily tasks and adapt to changing business needs at short notice
A self-starter who can work autonomously as well as part of a team
Return to Work Coordinator Qualification or willingness to obtain
Prior experience or knowledge of safety management systems (advantageous)
Current Open 'C' Class Driver's Licence
