This laboratory provides Anatomical Pathology services to several hospitals within the South East Sydney Local Health District, including St George, Sutherland, and Calvary hospitals, Breast Screen Southern Sydney, St George Private, and Karena Private hospitals, as well as several privately referred client locations.
This position is critical to the continued provision of our Anatomical Pathology services.The successful applicant will participate in a 24/7 rotating on-call roster, including weekends and public holidays, and attend Sutherland laboratories to perform urgent procedures as required.
There are also potential opportunities to attend pathology conferences/ workshops as part of ongoing professional development.
The operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7 am—7 pm.What you'll be doingPerform a range of laboratory investigations and tests (manual and automated) and technical tasks by applying established methods and procedures, as directed.
Undertake other laboratory duties including preparation of materials and the maintenance of equipment in line with established laboratory processes, procedures and protocols.

Apply now by addressing the following questions: Minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution with subjects relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operationsDemonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of routine Histology services, including Frozen sections, Renal and Skin IF, and simple and non-complex dissection, as well as the use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, and Quality Systems.Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlinesDemonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectationsCustomer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and patients as well as clinical laboratory staffDisplay initiative,
