About the Role
Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager, the Processing Manager will provide leadership across all aspects of the processing operation and serve as the site's technical authority on processing and metallurgy.
As a key member of the site leadership team, you will drive operational performance, plant optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring the highest standards of safety, environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and promoting a culture where safety, health, environment and quality are fundamental to every activity.
Providing strategic and operational leadership to the Processing Department.
Acting as the site subject matter expert on all matters relating to plant operations, metallurgical performance and process optimisation.
Delivering processing targets for throughput, recovery, concentrate quality, plant availability and operating costs.
Providing technical guidance and expertise to support operational decision-making and long-term business objectives.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives to maximise plant performance, recovery and efficiency.
Working collaboratively with Mining, Maintenance and Technical Services teams to optimise site-wide performance.
Managing departmental budgets, forecasts and performance against plan.
Leading, developing and mentoring a high-performing processing team.
Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and company requirements.
Supporting future operational improvement and growth opportunities through innovation and technical leadership.
About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced processing professional with strong technical credentials, proven leadership capability and a demonstrated track record of improving operational performance within a mining environment.
You will possess:
Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
A minimum of 10 years' experience in metallurgical processing, including significant leadership experience within mining operations.
Demonstrated success leading processing teams and delivering improvements in safety, recovery, plant performance and cost efficiency.
Strong technical expertise in mineral processing and metallurgical performance management.
Experience managing operational budgets, forecasting and departmental planning.
Proven ability to lead, influence and develop multidisciplinary teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
A visible and engaging leadership style with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Desirable
Experience within tungsten, tin, gold or other hard-rock mineral processing operations.
Previous experience in a Processing Manager, Metallurgy Manager, Senior Metallurgist or Senior Process Superintendent role.
Experience in plant commissioning, optimisation or operational turnaround environments.
Experience in gravity and floatation processing methodologies.
