About The Role
The WHS Systems, Governance & Capability Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening Miwatj's commitment to a safe, healthy and thriving workplace.
The role is responsible for coordinating and continuously improving the Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System, supporting governance, compliance, reporting and assurance activities across the organisation.
Working closely with leaders and teams, you will help deliver strategic WHS initiatives, build workforce capability, drive continuous improvement, and foster a positive safety culture that empowers people to work safely and effectively.
This is a full-time position based in either Darwin or Nhulunbuy, with regular travel to East Arnhem Land communities.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the coordination and continuous improvement of Miwatj's WHS systems, governance and compliance activities.Support audits, assurance processes, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.Coordinate strategic WHS projects and organisational safety programs.Develop reports, dashboards and insights to support informed decision-making.Build workforce capability through training,



communication and engagement activities.Foster a positive safety culture through collaboration with leaders, employees and stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
Experience in governance, WHS, risk, compliance, quality, project coordination or continuous improvement.Solid organisational, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills.Ability to analyse data and translate insights into meaningful actions.Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.A commitment to workplace safety, continuous improvement and culturally respectful practice.
Qualifications
Diploma qualification (or equivalent experience) in WHS, governance, risk, quality, project coordination, business administration or a related field.Advanced Microsoft 365 skills, including Excel and reporting tools.
Desirable: Certificate IV in WHS, project management qualifications, and experience in Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations or remote settings.
