Job Description
We are seeking a Trade Assistant to join our team in Burnie.
In this role, you will assist with the repair, maintenance, and fabrication of shipping containers and transport equipment, working alongside a skilled team to ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard.
You will be involved in a variety of workshop and maintenance activities, including welding, fabrication, and general repairs.
Your duties will include the repair and maintenance of transport and shipping line equipment, as well as assisting with field fabrication and site-based work as required.
The role offers exposure to a diverse range of equipment and the opportunity to further develop your trade and mechanical skills in a hands-on environment.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Previous semi-skilled or trade assistant experience (preferred)
A genuine interest in metal fabrication, welding, and workshop practices
A strong commitment to workplace safety
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Reliability, honesty, and integrity
A willingness to learn and develop new skills
