We are seeking an experienced Workplace Relations Officer to support our organisation across workplace relations, industrial relations, employee relations and HR compliance matters.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting directly to senior management, the Workplace Relations Officer will provide practical advice and support on workplace matters across our security operations.
This role will assist in ensuring our workforce practices remain compliant with:
• Fair Work Act requirements
• National Employment Standards (NES)
• Modern Awards
• Security Services Industry Award requirements
• Company policies and procedures
The successful candidate will work closely with management, operations and the HR team to support positive employee relationships, resolve workplace matters and improve workforce compliance processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Workplace Relations & Employee Relations
• Provide advice and support regarding employee relations matters including grievances, workplace concerns, performance management, disciplinary processes, investigations and conflict resolution.
• Assist managers with fair, consistent and compliant employee management practices.
• Support resolution of workplace issues while maintaining positive employee relationships.
Industrial Relations & Compliance
• Provide guidance on Fair Work obligations, NES, Modern Awards and Security Services Industry Award requirements.
• Assist with interpretation of overtime, penalty rates, allowances, shift arrangements and employment conditions.
• Identify potential compliance risks and provide recommendations to management.
• Assist with Fair Work related matters and workplace compliance reviews.
HR Support
• Provide support and advice to the HR team regarding workplace relations matters.
• Assist the HR team with employee onboarding queries and ensure employment processes are followed correctly.
• Support employee documentation, records and compliance requirements.
• Assist with reviewing and improving HR policies, procedures and workforce processes.
SECURITY INDUSTRY WORKFORCE SUPPORT
Support a diverse workforce including:
• Static Security Officers
• Mobile Patrol Officers
• Casual Employees
Experience understanding the requirements of 24/7 operations, shift work, public holidays and multiple client locations will be highly regarded.
ABOUT YOU
Essential:
• Experience in workplace relations, employee relations, HR advisory or similar roles.
• Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation and Fair Work requirements.
• Experience interpreting modern awards and employment conditions.
• Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage confidential employee information.
Highly Desirable:
• Security industry experience.
• Labour hire or large casual workforce experience.
• Knowledge of the Security Services Industry Award.
• Experience dealing with Fair Work matters.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE
Part time Position
Approximately ***** hours per week with flexibility available.
REMUNERATION
$50 – $65 per hour + superannuation (depending on experience)
This role is positioned above a traditional HR Coordinator level and below a Senior Industrial Relations Manager level.

• Ability to independently manage workplace matters.
• Security industry or labour-hire experience.
