The Business Manager is a senior executive leader at St John Bosco College, working in close partnership with the Principal to support the strategic leadership, stewardship and sustainable growth of the College.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Business Manager contributes to the long-term development of the College by ensuring the effective management of its financial, physical, technological and operational resources in service of the College's Catholic mission and strategic priorities.

The Business Manager plays a critical role in shaping this future by providing strategic leadership in financial sustainability, organisational effectiveness, resource stewardship, risk management and capital development.
Through sound judgement, innovation and collaboration, the Business Manager helps create the conditions that enable excellence in learning, wellbeing and community engagement.
The Business Manager leads the College's non-teaching services and provides strategic leadership across Finance, Property and Facilities, Information Technology, Marketing, Risk and Compliance, Operational Services and other business functions.
The role leads and develops non-teaching middle leaders and staff, ensuring organisational effectiveness, service excellence and alignment with the College's strategic priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Catholic Identity
The Business Manager supports the Principal and Executive Leadership Team to ensure that Catholic identity is reflected in the stewardship of the College's resources, policies and practices.
Model and witness authentic leadership grounded in the Gospel and the Salesian charism.
Support and promote a culture of faith, service and community across the College.
Ensure that decision-making, resource allocation and operational practices reflect the mission and values of Catholic education.
Foster a culture of dignity, belonging, inclusion and respect for all members of the College community.
Participate actively in the faith life of the College and support opportunities for staff faith formation.
Executive Leadership
The Business Manager works in partnership with the Principal and Executive Leadership Team to contribute to the strategic leadership and future development of the College.
Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the Catholic School Improvement Plan (CSIP) and strategic priorities.
Provide strategic advice to the Principal, Executive Leadership Team and Advisory Council on financial, operational and resource matters.
Undertake financial modelling, forecasting and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making.
Analyse demographic, enrolment and operational trends to support future planning and sustainable growth.
Provide strategic oversight of marketing and enrolment initiatives that support the growth, sustainability and future development of the College.
Lead the development of systems, processes and initiatives that improve organisational effectiveness and operational excellence.
Identify opportunities for innovation, sustainability and organisational effectiveness across the College.
Represent the College on relevant professional networks and industry forums as required.
Stewardship
The Business Manager provides strategic leadership of the College's people, resources, infrastructure, systems and operations, ensuring their effective stewardship in support of the mission, sustainability and future growth of the College.
Staff Leadership
Lead, support and develop non-teaching middle leaders and teams through clear expectations, accountability and professional growth.
Build a culture of collaboration, service excellence and continuous improvement across all non-teaching functions.
Support workforce planning, succession planning and organisational capability development.
Foster positive and productive relationships between teaching and non-teaching staff.
Finance and Resource Management
Lead the development, monitoring and review of the annual budget and longer-term financial plans.
Oversee financial operations, reporting, cash flow management and asset management systems.
Monitor financial performance and provide timely analysis and recommendations.
Ensure effective financial governance, accountability and internal control frameworks.
Oversee annual audit processes, financial reporting requirements, census collections and statutory obligations.
Manage funding, grants, loans and other financial arrangements in accordance with CEWA requirements.
Explore opportunities for revenue generation and the effective utilisation of College facilities, resources and assets.
Support equitable and mission-centred allocation of resources across the College.
Property,
Infrastructure and Technology
Lead strategic planning for facilities, infrastructure and capital development in partnership with the Principal.
Support the implementation and ongoing review of the College Master Plan.
Oversee property, facilities, grounds and asset lifecycle management.
Ensure long-term maintenance and asset management plans are developed and implemented.
Monitor major capital works and infrastructure projects to ensure delivery within agreed budgets and timelines.
Provide strategic oversight of ICT infrastructure, cyber security, digital systems and technology resources.
Ensure College facilities and infrastructure support the current and future needs of a growing K-12 learning community.
Governance, Risk and Compliance
Lead the development, implementation and review of risk management frameworks, systems and practices.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, CEWA policies, delegations and regulatory obligations.
Oversee Work Health and Safety systems and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
Monitor insurance arrangements and claims management processes.
Oversee procurement, contract management and tender processes.
Prepare reports, analysis and advice for the Advisory Council and other governance groups as required.
Support effective business continuity planning and organisational preparedness.
Promote and support a culture of child safety and ensure compliance with relevant child safe legislation, standards and CEWA requirements.
Community and Partnerships
The Business Manager contributes to building a professional, team-oriented and service-oriented College community.
Build and sustain productive relationships with staff, families, parish, CEWA, consultants, contractors and external agencies.
Support effective engagement with the Catholic School Advisory Council, Friends of St John Bosco P&F; and other key stakeholders.
Contribute to partnerships and initiatives that strengthen community engagement and support the mission of the College.
Promote a culture of responsiveness, professionalism and service across College operations.
General
Participate fully in the life of the College community.
Maintain relevant professional learning and industry knowledge.
Perform other duties as directed by the Principal.
