About the Opportunity
Based in Henderson, WA, the Senior Configuration Management Officer is responsible for supporting the coordination and delivery of Configuration Management (CM) activities across major Defence shipbuilding programs.
Working closely with the Configuration Lead and Configuration Manager, you will help maintain configuration integrity throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accurate baseline management, configuration control, engineering change management, and audit readiness.
This role plays a critical part in supporting platform acceptance, successful handover, and transition between acquisition and sustainment activities.

What's Involved
Coordinate and deliver Configuration Management activities in accordance with project plans and Configuration Management Plans
Maintain accurate configuration information and change records within Configuration Management Tools
Support baseline management, configuration identification, control, and status accounting activities
Coordinate and participate in Physical Configuration Audits and configuration reporting
Assess and manage Configuration Management impacts associated with Engineering Change Processes (ECPs)
Monitor and report Configuration Management performance against agreed KPIs
Contribute to the continuous improvement of CM processes, procedures, and work instructions
Collaborate with stakeholders across Engineering, Production, Programs, and ILS functions
Provide mentorship and guidance to CM Officers and Document Controllers when required
Act on behalf of the Configuration Lead during periods of absence
You'll Need
Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline, or a Certificate IV (or higher) in a technical discipline
Demonstrated experience in Configuration Management within engineering, defence, or complex project environments
Working knowledge of Systems Engineering standards and EIA-649 Configuration Management principles
Experience using engineering software and document management systems such as CMT, CMMS, AMOS, or similar
Strong understanding of baseline management, configuration control, status accounting, and configuration audits
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate Microsoft Office and Excel skills
Australian Citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Baseline Defence Security Clearance
