The organisation is going through an enterprise application modernisation.
They are looking for a Principal Engineer, Senior or Lead Software Engineer with strong solution design experience, or an established Solution Architect, to work closely with engineering teams and translate architectural direction into working technology.
You will take ownership of solution design across new capabilities, application changes and system integrations.
What you'll be responsible for...Owning end-to-end solution architecture across the platform's applications, services and integrationsDefining application components, service boundaries, APIs, data flows, integrations, dependencies and non-functional requirementsDesigning cloud-native systems within an AWS environmentApplying Domain-Driven DesignApplying modern architecture principles to improve maintainability, modularity and adaptabilityProducing solution architecture diagrams, solution design documents, technical proposals and Architecture Decision RecordsMaking risks and technical trade-offs visible before they affect deliveryAssessing security, scalability, resilience, performance, operability, maintainability and cost considerations when shaping solutions.Leveraging AI to explore and test solution options more efficiently, while maintaining architectural accountability and professional judgement.What you'll bring to the role...Your practical experience applying approaches such as Domain-Driven Design, composable architecture, microservices, API-first and cloud-native design,



headless systems, hexagonal architecture and distributed system patternsYour software and application architecture within enterprise, product or platform environmentsYour practical experience designing cloud-native solutions using AWS and serverless technologiesYour understanding of Data Mesh-influenced approachesYour understanding of event-driven architectureYour experience designing APIs and integrationsYour technical background working with TypeScript, Node.js and/or PythonYour exposure to Kafka and/or Amazon Kinesis
