Job title - Paediatric Occupational Therapist (Subcontractor)

Location - Central Coast (priority), Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland & Hunter NSW

Employment Type - Independent Subcontractor (ABN) - fully flexible schedule, no minimum, no KPIs

Rate - $90 per hour including super (not including GST) + $500 Startup Resource Allowance

Supervision and Support - Weekly check ins with the Director/Principal OT + on-call admin support during business hours.

Bonuses / Extras - $500 Startup Resource Allowance to build your therapy resources + externally funded mentoring - depending on billables hit per week.

Caseload - Paediatric focus (school-age, mixed early-intervention) with some adult work available if you want it. You choose what fits your clinical strengths.

Clinical Professional Development - CPD funding to be determined - based on billables hitting per week. Opportunity for state to interstate CPD trips with Director.

About Jade The OT

Jade The OT is a small, locally-owned, director-led paediatric OT practice covering Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and the Central Coast.

We're built by two people who've lived the OT experience from the client side. Jade grew up with her cousin who has Down syndrome and deafness, and her nephew who's Autistic + ADHD. These individuals influenced Jade to pursue Occupational Therapy, and wanted to make support people to achieve their goals.

James (Office Manager/CFO) had years of OT, physio and speech as a kid working through Talipes, dyspraxia and a speech impairment.

We're neurodivergent-affirming, family-first, and unapologetically down-to-earth. We don't do cookie-cutter therapy - and we don't want a cookie-cutter team.

About The Role

Our Central Coast referrals are stacking up and we need another OT to support our valued participants. This is a genuine subcontractor role - you run your own days, we handle the referrals, admin and clinical backup.

Every day is different. You have full calendar control. You say yes to the referrals that fit; you say no to the ones that don't.

Who We Are Looking For





We're aiming for OTs with 2-3+ years of experience who want to step into subcontracting with real support, steady referrals and a team that genuinely cares.

To be considered for this role you'll need:

- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
- General AHPRA Registration
- ABN/ willing to get one
- Own reliable car + comprehensive car insurance
- Valid Australian driver's licence
- Professional Liability Insurance (minimum $20M)
- Public Liability Insurance (minimum $20M)
- Working with Children Check (NSW)
- National Police Check
- First Aid + CPR certificate
- Anaphylaxis Training certificate - online/free
- Child Protection Awareness Training certificate - online/free
- Paediatric experience preferred

- You explain things to families in plain English, not clinical jargon
- You want autonomy - but you also want admin support
