About the Team
The role sits within the Research Office and supports research infrastructure planning and delivery across the university in collaboration with faculties and central teams.
Job Purpose
This role supports the strategic development, coordination and management of research infrastructure across UTS. It provides expert advice and works with stakeholders to improve infrastructure planning, funding and use to enable high quality research outcomes.
Detailed Description
Role Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain awareness of state and national research infrastructure initiatives, policy developments and funding schemes.
Provide advice and support on research opportunities involving infrastructure.
Coordinate UTS involvement in external funding schemes for research infrastructure, including proposal development and post award activities.
Support review, negotiation and finalisation of infrastructure related projects.
Work with stakeholders across the university to identify opportunities for improved infrastructure planning,
sharing and management.
Support research infrastructure committees and provide secretariat support.
Deliver training and awareness activities to support infrastructure planning and use.
Skills, Attributes and Knowledge
In-depth understanding of research infrastructure management, funding mechanisms, and project management principles.
Knowledge of State and Federal research infrastructure initiatives and funding programs.
Ability to build relationships and work with researchers and stakeholders across disciplines.
Ability to interpret and apply policy and provide advice on complex matters.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
Solid communication skills including presentations and stakeholder engagement.
Understanding of university policies and compliance requirements.
Experience
Experience supporting or managing research infrastructure in a research or university environment.
Experience working with stakeholders across multiple areas to support planning and outcomes.
Experience supporting collaborations or infrastructure planning activities.
Qualifications
Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Qualifications in a science, engineering or technology discipline are desirable.

Remuneration/Salary
What We Offer
Base Salary Range: $122,640 to $139,674 (HEW8) plus 17% superannuation (pension)
The position is full time and will be made on a continuing basis.
