Adult Autism Services (AAS) is a post-school community access program for autistic adults. Our centre is based in Gladesville.
We foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative workplace culture and are seeking reliable Support Workers.

About the role
- Shifts are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (Monday to Friday)
- Support non-verbal individuals and those with complex behaviours using autism-specific strategies
- Deliver person centred, strengths based active support that promotes autonomy, independence and wellbeing
- Work as part of a collaborative team alongside support workers, occupational therapists, speech therapists and behaviour support practitioners
- Receive guidance and support from experienced staff and leadership
- Enjoy opportunities to support participants in fun, engaging activities that build daily living skills and support social and community participation
- Lead and design programs that incorporate your own skills and interests to enhance participant engagement

We’re looking for Support Workers who:
- Have at least 1 year of experience supporting non-verbal participants and individuals with complex behaviours, and can confidently apply autism-specific support strategies
- Are dependable and able to support participants' needs
- Hold eligibility to work in Australia, a Working with Children Check, and an NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Demonstrate clear and confident verbal communication skills, including providing effective guidance to participants and collaborating with families and the team
- Demonstrate robust written communication skills, including completing shift notes, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and professionally
- Ideally hold a Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or similar (on-the-job training and mentoring is also provided)
- Show initiative, emotional intelligence, resilience, and strong problem-solving skills
- Work independently but also thrive as positive team players, open to feedback and ongoing learning
