We are looking for an Experienced Engineer to join our Engineering team and take a leading role in delivering temporary works packages across some of Australia’s major infrastructure projects.
In this role, you will take ownership of complex construction engineering design tasks. You will develop and deliver engineering solutions that integrate structural design with construction methodology, managing packages from concept development and detailed design through to client review, construction support and site implementation.
You will work closely with clients, contractors, drafters and other engineers to solve complex construction challenges, manage competing priorities across multiple projects and ensure designs are delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high technical standard.
You will also play an important role in supporting the development of junior engineers, improving technical processes and building long-term client relationships.
This is an prospect to strengthen your technical leadership, commercial awareness and project-delivery skills while seeing your designs implemented on site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertake advanced structural analysis, design and review of temporary works structures in steel, concrete and timber across major infrastructure, civil and building projects.
Take full ownership of design packages, including planning,
analysis, documentation, coordination, client review and construction support.
Prepare and review calculations, design reports, drawings, risk registers and supporting technical documentation in accordance with Riddwood’s quality assurance processes.
Ensure design packages are delivered to the required scope, programme and quality standards.
Coordinate with engineers and drafters to ensure design intent is accurately reflected in the final documentation.
Liaise directly with clients, contractors and project stakeholders to manage expectations, provide progress updates and resolve technical issues.
Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
Undertake site inspections independently and provide practical engineering advice during construction.
Mentor junior engineers and support their technical and career development.
ABOUT YOU
You are someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of your work and is motivated by solving complex engineering and construction problems.
You will hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil or Structural Engineering that is recognised by Engineers Australia, have full working rights in Australia and at least four years of structural design experience within an engineering consultancy.
You will also have:
Strong knowledge and practical application of relevant Australian Standards, including AS 1170, AS 1720, AS 3600, AS 3610, AS 4100 and AS 5100.
Demonstrated experience designing and reviewing structures in steel, concrete and timber.
The ability to independently manage complex design tasks from concept through to construction.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Confidence liaising directly with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.
The ability to guide junior engineers and provide constructive technical guidance.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, compliant design documentation.
Australian consulting or construction industry experience.
Experience in temporary works, construction engineering and major infrastructure projects is required.
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as SpaceGass, Structural Toolkit, Tekla Tedds, Autodesk Robot or similar software will be highly regarded.
Chartered status, or progress towards achieving Chartered status, will also be viewed favourably.
