Job description: Business Analyst –Energy & Utilities
Job Summary
The Business Analyst – Energy &Utilities; is responsible for analyzing business processes, gatheringrequirements, and supporting digital transformation initiatives within the energyand utilities sector (electricity, gas, water, renewables). This role bridgesbusiness needs and technology solutions to improve efficiency, compliance, andcustomer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- RequirementsGathering
- Work with stakeholders to understand businessneeds and objectives
- Document functional and non-functionalrequirements
- BusinessProcess Analysis
- Analyze existing utility processes (billing,metering, asset management, grid operations)
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvementopportunities
- DataAnalysis & Reporting
- Analyze operational and customer data togenerate insights
- Prepare dashboards, reports, and KPIs
- SolutionDesign Support
- Collaborate with IT teams to design systemenhancements or current solutions
- Support implementation of enterprise systems(e.g., SAP IS-U, Oracle Utilities)
- Regulatory& Compliance Support
- Ensure solutions align with energy marketregulations and compliance requirements
- StakeholderManagement
- Communicate clearly with business users, projectteams, and vendors
- Facilitate workshops and requirement sessions
- Testing& Implementation
- Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing)
- Validate system functionality against businessrequirements
