About the role
Monaro Fuel Haulage is seeking a qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our Melbourne workshop. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining our modern fleet of Kenworth trucks and supporting the safe, reliable delivery of fuel across our operations.
Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure our fleet remains in peak operating condition.

Roster
- Enjoy a consistent Monday to Friday roster, working 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Weekend work may be required to support operational requirements
- On-call responsibilities may be required as part of this role, with an applicable on-call allowance provided
- Competitive hourly rates of$56.42 per hour (Monday to Friday)
- Weekend penalty rates of$80.80 per hour

Skills & Experience
Applicants must have unrestricted Australian working rights and be willing to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, as part of the recruitment process.
- Proven experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, or in a similar role
- Trade qualifications in Automotive Mechanics (Heavy Road Transport highly desirable). Candidates with relevant Trades Assistant experience are also encouraged to apply
- An interest in expanding your skills, with opportunities available to dual trade in Light Vehicle Mechanics or Auto Electrical
- Experience working with Kenworth trucks (highly regarded)
- Experience maintaining fuel tankers and trailers (highly desirable)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills with a commitment to quality workmanship
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- A strong commitment to workplace health, safety, and maintaining a clean and organised work workplace
