About the role
As a member of the Business Systems team, this position is required to provide technical leadership and operational oversight for Council's enterprise applications, ensuring stable, secure and effective application support, maintenance, administration and service delivery across the organisation.
Reporting to the Coordinator Business Systems, you will lead the operational delivery and continuous improvement of enterprise applications, providing specialist technical expertise and guidance to support both business and technology outcomes. Working closely with stakeholders across Council, you will help ensure enterprise systems remain reliable, fit-for-purpose and aligned to organisational needs.
This role involves overseeing application support activities, mentoring team members, coordinating operational priorities and partnering with vendors and stakeholders to drive service improvements and system enhancements. You will play a key role in supporting business process optimisation, improving service delivery and ensuring enterprise applications continue to meet the evolving needs of a growing organisation.
Utilising your technical leadership skills, enterprise application expertise and stakeholder management capabilities will be pivotal to your success as you support the delivery of reliable, efficient and customer-focused technology services.
What your day will look like
- Leading the operational support, maintenance and continuous improvement of Council's enterprise applications and associated services.
- Providing technical leadership,
specialist advice and escalation support for complex application and system issues.
- Coordinating team workloads, monitoring service delivery outcomes and supporting the achievement of operational priorities.
- Building robust partnerships with business stakeholders, vendors and technical teams to support system enhancements and service improvements.
- Coaching and mentoring team members while fostering a collaborative, customer-focused and high-performing team environment.
What you will bring
- Degree or diploma qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline, or extensive equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience supporting enterprise or business applications within a complex technology environment.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, mentoring or guidance within an applications or technology services team.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise application support, systems administration, incident management and continuous improvement practices.
- Proven experience leading and developing technical teams through effective coaching, mentoring and performance support, with a focus on capability uplift, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
