Mates Rates Plumbing is seeking an experienced Leak Detection Plumber to join our team in Sydney. This is a full-time position based in Sydney NSW 2000. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our leak detection services, combining diagnostic expertise with practical plumbing skills to identify and resolve water leakage issues for both residential and commercial clients. You will play a crucial part in protecting our customers' properties and providing them with peace of mind through swift, accurate leak detection and repair solutions.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct thorough leak detection inspections using both traditional and advanced diagnostic techniques
- Utilise thermal imaging, moisture metres, acoustic listening equipment and other specialist tools to locate hidden leaks within walls, foundations and underground pipework
- Perform emergency call-outs to assess and respond to active water leaks
- Repair identified leaks by replacing damaged pipes, fittings and fixtures
- Provide detailed reports to clients outlining leak locations, severity and recommended solutions
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain findings and discuss repair options
- Maintain all equipment and tools in positive working condition
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company protocols
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals
- Document all work completed and maintain accurate records for invoicing and quality assurance

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience in leak detection and associated repair work
- Proficiency with leak detection equipment, including thermal imaging cameras, moisture metres and acoustic devices
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills




- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Physical fitness and capability to carry equipment and work in various conditions
- Full driver's licence and reliable transport for accessing client sites
- Current First Aid certification (preferred)
- Knowledge of building codes and plumbing regulations in NSW (preferred)
