About the End Client

You will support a major government-focused organisation operating within a highly secure and regulated environment, undertaking modernisation of its messaging and integration platforms.

Role Overview

Lead assessment, migration, and validation of ~150 IBM DataPower services from X2 to X4 with minimal disruption.

Key Responsibilities

- Discovery & Planning

Assess 150 services, configurations, dependencies, and integrations

Document certificates, backends, and logging

Develop phased migration and rollback plan





Identify deprecated features and required fixes

- Migration Execution

Migrate services across non-prod and production (parallel approach)

Backup, export, and re-import configurations, certificates, and keys

Ensure version control, traceability, and documentation

Deploy services “as-is” and integrate monitoring/logging

- Testing & Optimisation

Support unit and integration testing

Troubleshoot and fix migration issues

Assist with performance tuning and stabilisation

Required Skills & Experience

- 10+ years IT experience
- Robust IBM DataPower expertise (mandatory)
- Experience in large-scale service migration
- Solid knowledge of APIs, security (certs/TLS), and integrations
- Strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
