The Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC) is the national standards-setting body for veterinary education, assessment and professional recognition across Australia and New Zealand.

We're seeking an experienced project and events management professional to lead the operational delivery of the Australasian Veterinary Examination (AVE) – a high-stakes national assessment program that ensures internationally qualified veterinarians meet the standards required to practise.

This is a diverse role combining project management, event delivery, governance and stakeholder engagement . You'll coordinate complex examination events across multiple locations, work with examiners, candidates and universities, support governance processes, and drive projects that strengthen and modernise the AVE program.

Melbourne (Hybrid) | Full-time (Part-time 0.8FTE considered)

The Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC) is the national standards-setting body for veterinary education, assessment and professional recognition across Australia and New Zealand.

We're seeking an experienced project and events management professional to lead the operational delivery of the Australasian Veterinary Examination (AVE) – a high-stakes national assessment program that ensures internationally qualified veterinarians meet the standards required to practise.

You'll coordinate complex examination events across multiple locations, work with examiners, candidates and universities, support governance processes, and drive projects that strengthen and modernise the AVE program.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Education, you will:

- Lead the planning and delivery of MCQ and clinical examination events.

- Coordinate candidates, examiners, venues and service providers across Australia and New Zealand.

- Manage strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance assessment quality and operational efficiency.

- Support committee governance, Board reporting and implementation of key decisions.

- Analyse operational data and identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and candidate experience.

- Build strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholder

About You

SoYOU're an organised, proactive professional who enjoys managing complex projects, coordinating high-profile events and working with a diverse range of stakeholders.

You'll bring:

- Experience in project management, events management or complex operational delivery.





- Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.

- Strong communication, problem-solving and analytical abilities.

- Experience coordinating multiple concurrent projects or events.

- A continuous improvement mindset and confidence using technology to improve business processes.

Veterinary qualifications or experience working within the veterinary profession would be advantageous , and an understanding of high-stakes assessment, health, education or accreditation environments also highly regarded. This role requires flexibility to undertake occasional interstate travel and, on rare occasions, international travel.
