Use your abattoir leadership experience in a growing medical technology company

At APS Med Tech we produce biomaterials used by medical device companies to manufacture heart valves that save lives.

We’re a rapid-growing business with a highly experienced technical and leadership team, and we’re looking for someone who has held a leadership or supervisory role within a red-meat abattoir.

You’ll know how to earn the respect of operators, train teams and lift standards in a demanding production environment. This is an opportunity to take that experience into a very different industry, where you’ll have real ownership, the freedom to take initiative and the backing of a technically strong team.

What you’ll do

You’ll be the link between APS and our partner abattoirs, making sure our collection and processing requirements are understood and followed consistently.

You’ll:

- Train operators in our collection and processing requirements
- Build strong relationships with plant teams and management
- Spend time on the floor demonstrating processes and working alongside operators
- Identify and resolve quality or process issues
- Support the onboarding of new supplier sites
- Improve consistency, yield and performance across sites
- Work with our technical and quality teams to respond to customer feedback

This is a hands-on role. You’ll need to be comfortable working in kill floor and slaughter floor environments and confident holding people to clear standards while maintaining solid relationships.





What you’ll bring

- Experience working in a red-meat abattoir or slaughterhouse
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience training, guiding or influencing operational teams
- The ability to build credibility with operators and plant management
- Practical knowledge of HACCP-based systems
- The ability to work independently and manage regular travel
- A valid driver’s licence
- Experience in abattoir QA, multi-site operations or introducing recent processes would be useful, but isn’t essential

You won’t be one small part of a large operation. You’ll have ownership of how we work with our abattoir partners and will be trusted to build relationships, solve problems and improve the way things are done.

You’ll work closely with a hand-picked team of experienced scientific, quality and operational leaders, while bringing expertise we do not have ourselves. You’ll be valued as the person who understands how abattoirs operate and knows how to make processes work on the ground.

As APS grows, the role will continue to develop across new supplier sites, new biomaterial products and broader production responsibilities.
