Cowes Total Car Care is seeking a Roadside Patrolman to join our team on a full-time basis in Cowes, VIC 3922. This is a position within our automotive services operation, where you will be the frontline representative providing emergency roadside assistance to motorists in distress. As a Roadside Patrolman, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our clients whilst maintaining the reputation of Cowes Total Car Care for reliability and professionalism. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently whilst responding to calls in various weather conditions and locations throughout our service area.

Key responsibilities

- Respond promptly to roadside assistance calls and provide immediate support to stranded or distressed motorists
- Perform roadside diagnostics and undertake basic mechanical repairs to get vehicles back on the road safely
- Assess vehicle damage and mechanical issues, providing clear advice to customers about repair options
- Conduct vehicle inspections and document findings accurately for reporting purposes
- Arrange towing services when necessary
- Maintain detailed records of all roadside assistance calls, repairs completed, and customer interactions
- Communicate professionally with customers, providing updates on service progress and estimated timeframes
- Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained in good working order and properly stocked in the patrol vehicle
- Follow all health and safety protocols and maintain roadside safety whilst working near traffic
- Contribute to customer satisfaction by providing courteous and efficient service at all times

What we're looking for

- Current light vehicle driving licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in automotive repairs, mechanical diagnostics, or roadside assistance services is preferred
- Strong knowledge of vehicles




- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work calmly under pressure
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in physically demanding conditions
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills with a professional demeanour
- Reliability and punctuality with the ability to manage multiple calls and prioritise effectively
- Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to roadside work is advantageous
