We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to join our team in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing enterprise IT infrastructure, VMware virtualization, and Service Desk operations. The role involves maintaining system availability, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, supporting end users, and ensuring the stability and security of enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and maintain Windows/Linux server environments and enterprise infrastructure.
- Manage and support VMware virtualization platforms, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure high uptime.
- Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support for infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.
- Work closely with the IT Service Desk to resolve escalated issues within agreed SLAs.
- Perform server patching, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery activities.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and Active Directory administration.
- Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, storage, and network-related issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs,



and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement infrastructure improvements and best practices.

Required Skills

- 8–10 years of experience as a System Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer.
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter).
- Experience supporting enterprise IT Service Desk operations.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and Active Directory.
- Experience with server monitoring, backup, and recovery solutions.
- Valuable understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Linux server administration.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell or Bash).
- ITIL Foundation certification is an advantage.
- Must have valid Australian work rights.
- Candidates requiring RGS for visa extension are eligible to apply.
