Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Financial Controller to lead the company’s finance function and support strategic business growth.

The Financial Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, compliance, and internal controls. This role will work closely with senior management to provide financial insights, improve operational efficiency, and ensure the financial integrity of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the company’s day-to-day financial operations.

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.

Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.

Develop budgets, forecasts and financial models.

Monitor financial performance and recommend improvement strategies.

Analyse business performance and provide commercial insights to senior management.

Accounts Payable (AP)

Oversee the full Accounts Payable function.

Ensure supplier invoices are accurately processed and approved.

Manage supplier payments and cash disbursements.

Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.

Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.





Ensure purchasing and payment processes comply with company policies.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

Oversee the full Accounts Receivable function.

Ensure timely customer invoicing and collections.

Monitor outstanding accounts and minimise overdue receivables.

Reconcile customer accounts and resolve payment issues.

Prepare ageing reports and cash collection analysis.

Improve debtor management and collection processes.

Payroll & Compliance Management

Managetaxcompliance,includingBAS,GST,FBT,andannualtaxreturns.

InternalControls&Governance;

Budgeting & Cost Control

Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

Monitor labour costs, food costs and operating expenses.

Analyse store profitability and cost variances.

Recommend initiatives to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Support pricing analysis and business planning.

Cash Flow & Treasury

Monitor daily cash flow and working capital.

Prepare cash flow forecasts.

Manage banking relationships.

Optimise cash utilisation and liquidity.

Monitor capital expenditure and investment planning.

Business Performance & Reporting

Produce weekly and monthly KPI reports.

Analyse sales, labour costs, food costs and gross profit.

Support business expansion,



investment and operational decision-making.

Develop financial dashboards and management reports.

Provide financial recommendations to improve business performance.

Leadership & Team Management

Lead and mentor the finance team, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions.

Allocate work, monitor performance and support staff development.

Improve finance processes and internal controls.

Collaborate with Operations, HR and other departments to support business objectives.

Skills & Experience

Qualifications:Bachelor’sdegreeinAccounting,Finance,orrelatedfield.CPAorCAqualificationisessential.

Experience:Minimum(5–8+)yearsofprogressivefinancialexperience,withatleast(2–3+)yearsinacontrollerorseniormanagerialrole.

Compliance:Deepknowledgeofstatutoryaccountingstandards,localtaxregulations,andpayrollcompliance.

SoftSkills:Provenstrategicthinking,commercialacumen,andstrongleadership/communicationskills.

Hospitality, retail or multi-site business experience.

Experience with ERP or POS systems.

Business intelligence and financial modelling experience.

Process improvement and automation experience.
