Description
We are seeking a Machinery Operator to join our operations at Sundown Valley NSW. This role offers a great opportunity to join an exciting, industry leading Agribusiness
About the Property
Located in the stunning New England region of NSW, Sundown Valley Station boasts a picturesque setting with proximity to the charming towns of Armidale and Tamworth. This station plays a pivotal role in our Wagyu business, focusing on the production of premium, high-quality cattle. Encompassing an expansive 22,000 hectares, Sundown Valley successfully manages a herd of over 12,000 head, with an impressive annual turnover of 15,000 to 20,000 cattle. We operate intensive rotational grazing on agronomically managed pastures, with a high priority on performance, long-term sustainability, and producing high-quality cattle and pastures.
About the Role
As a Machinery Operator at Sundown Valley, you will be required to undertake a variety of tasks – one day you might be clearing out damns, the next grading a fire break. Reporting to the Station Manager, your duties will include, but aren’t limited to;
- Operation and basic maintenance of a wide variety of station plant and machinery including graders, dozers, loaders, telehandlers and tractors.
- General earthmoving, such as clearing out dams
- Clearing internal and boundary fence lines
- Working safely and efficiently
- Be prepared to assist on the station if required
About You
- Competent operation and maintenance of various station machinery/equipment.
- General station and machinery maintenance experience.
- Relevant earthmoving experience, including operating a grader (tickets preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, including comprehending complex directions to various parts of the property
- Strong ability to problem solve
- Keep machinery in a tidy and orderly manner
- A strong work ethic and commitment to working safely
- Hold a current Class C driver’s licence
- MC licence would be an advantage
- A genuine passion for Agriculture
