STA Consulting Engineers is seeking a Design Technician - Foundations to join our growing Foundations team. This role is suited to someone who enjoys high-quality technical delivery, working within established systems, and contributing to consistent, compliant foundation design outcomes across residential projects.

About the role

You’ll be responsible for drafting and designing foundation solutions in line with STA standards, Australian Standards, and the NCC. Working closely with engineers, planners, and administration teams, you’ll support efficient, accurate delivery in a production-focused environment while maintaining strong quality and customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities

- Produce accurate foundation designs and drawings using AutoCAD (Revit advantageous)
- Interpret building plans, soil reports, and design inputs
- Apply STA design standards, templates, and QA processes consistently
- Manage allocated work through STA systems (DDS),



including time and progress tracking
- Check your own work for accuracy, compliance, and completeness
- Respond to internal and customer technical queries in a timely manner
- Contribute to continuous improvement of templates and design processes

What we’re looking for

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in foundations or structural design (residential preferred)
- Strong drafting background with AutoCAD proficiency
- Working knowledge of foundation design standards and soil behaviour
- Experience working in a production or high-volume design environment
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and accountability
- Comfortable working within defined systems and quality frameworks
