Digger King is seeking a reliable and practical Yard Manager to oversee our Ballarat machinery display and yard.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who is organised, takes pride in their workplace and is comfortable dealing with customers, transport companies and machinery.
Key responsibilities:
Managing the day-to-day presentation and operation of the Ballarat yard
Keeping the entire site secure, clean, neat and well organised
Receiving machinery, equipment, parts and other deliveries
Inspecting incoming deliveries and reporting any damage or discrepancies
Coordinating customer pickups and transport movements
Showing customers through machinery and displays when they visit
Answering basic customer questions and referring sales enquiries to our sales team
Keeping track of machinery entering and leaving the yard
Ensuring machines are correctly positioned, labelled and ready for display or collection
Carrying out basic machinery checks, including fluid levels, batteries and general condition
Taking photos of incoming or outgoing equipment when required
Promptly reporting any security, maintenance or presentation issues
About you:
Reliable, trustworthy and capable of working independently
Friendly, skilled and confident dealing with customers
Well organised, with good attention to detail
Practical and comfortable working around earthmoving machinery
Basic knowledge of excavators, loaders or similar equipment is preferred
Able to use a phone, email and basic computer systems
Physically capable of performing normal yard duties
A current driver's licence is required
A forklift licence and previous machinery, transport, yard or equipment experience would be an advantage
