The Casual Chef supports the delivery of high-quality catering services across a range of events, including corporate functions, private events, and large-scale catering operations. This role requires flexibility, strong food preparation skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workplace while maintaining high standards of food safety and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, cook, and present food to a high standard in line with menus and client requirements
- Assist with menu execution for events of varying size and complexity
- Ensure all food preparation complies with food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
- Assist with stock rotation, food storage, and basic inventory management
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to meet service timelines
- Support event setup and pack-down as required
- Adapt to changing work locations, event schedules, and service demands

Skills and Experience

- Proven experience working as a chef in catering, hospitality, or commercial kitchen environments




- Sound knowledge of food safety standards and safe food handling practices
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Qualifications

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience)
- Current Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
