UQ College Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary company and Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for the University of Queensland (UQ). UQ College provides domestic and international students with access to further and higher education through a range of pathway programs.
These include English language, Foundation, Tertiary Preparation, and Bridging Programs, plus Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs.

About This Opportunity
We're seeking enthusiastic Casual TESOL language teachers to join our supportive and innovative teaching team in September and October.
At UQC our focus is on providing a first-class student experience both in and out of the classroom. We empower our teachers to thrive professionally, to provide a consistently challenging, engaging, and rewarding learning environment for their students and make a meaningful impact on student success.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Deliver face-to-face and/or online English language teaching and associated teaching activities, including lesson preparation, classroom delivery,
student feedback, marking, and attendance recording.
- Contribute to the development, review, and continuous improvement of shared teaching, learning, and assessment materials.
- Participate in orientations, student consultations and supervision of student activities.
- Monitor and report on student academic progress and, where required, liaise with academic and student support staff regarding student outcomes and wellbeing.
- General course administration at the direction of the relevant Academic Manager.
These are casual opportunities for late September/October start.
About You
You will have:
- Completion of a degree or diploma of at least three years full-time, or equivalent.
- A recognised TESOL qualification, such as Cambridge CELTA, Certificate IV TESOL, or a Graduate Certificate in TESOL or Applied Linguistics.
- At least one year of full-time or equivalent ESL or EFL teaching experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in teaching academic English pathway programs.
- Experience in the reliable assessment of speaking and writing.
- Clear evidence of interest and involvement in professional development activities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with colleagues across the College.
- A current Blue Card or QCT registration prior to commencement, or evidence that an application is pending.
Desirable
- Cambridge/DELTA, and/or a Masters in TESOL/Applied Linguistics.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and/or supporting concurrent English language support programs for university students
Staff will be required to work between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm Mon-Fri and will, on occasion, be required to work additional hours outside of these.
Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks, which may include verification of the right to work in Australia,qualifications, professional registration (eg. QCT), criminal history checks, and other role-specific requirements such as Blue Card checks. This may also include checks relating to gender-based violence matters or other integrity and conduct requirements.
