On behalf of my clients who operate in the Australian Defence sector, I am currently looking for a Deputy Project Manager who has prior experience gained in the Defence Maritime space.
The role is being offered as a long-term day rate contract role and will be based from client's site in Adelaide.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and work breakdown structures.
- Coordinate project workforce planning and delivery timelines, tracking task performance and resolving delivery blockers.
- Support governance reporting, including weekly status reports, financial updates, and milestone tracking.
- Maintain project registers (risks, issues, actions), support risk mitigation planning, and track progress to resolution.
- Assist in planning alignment activities with cross-functional teams.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Experience supporting Defence or large infrastructure programs in a PMO or project support capacity.
- Skilled in MS Project, Excel, and relevant project reporting tools.
- Solid organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Prior experience with sustainment or shipyard environments is highly desirable.
- Due to the nature of the work candidates must have NV1 or above clearance.
