Position Title: Aboriginal Mental Health Clinical Lead (HM3)- Adolescent Forensic Mental Health, Justice Health Olympic Park - TFT/TPT ( job share option can be considered)

About the Role

The Aboriginal Mental Health Clinical Leader (AMHCL)



is responsible for the implementation of Federal and State Aboriginal Mental Health and wellbeing frameworks. The AMHCL has both a clinical and strategic role in service development and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure culturally safe and responsive Aboriginal mental health services to young people across the state.

The AMHCL will have a robust strategic role, consulting on policies, service development and partnerships. The position provides also cultural consultation on treatment options, clinical interventions and management plans to all the JHFMHN Adolescent Mental Health teams, those being, Adolescent Custodial Mental Health, Community Integration Team, Adolescent Court and Community Team, School Link, and the Forensic Hospital Austinmer Adolescent Unit.

The AMHCL will promote and maintain the values of JH&FMHN; by complying with NSW Ministry of Health and JHFMHN policies and relevant legislation.

This position will work across Adolescent Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Services (AMH&DAS;) within JHFMHN and will work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people from 10 to 18 years of age. This position will provide leadership to the Aboriginal Mental Health Trainee program.

The Justice Health Olympic Park (JHOP) office is located at 10 Herb Elliot Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park and Justice Health staff are able to access discounted parking at $5 a day. Public transport is readily available including buses, trains, and ferries.



Easy road access is provided via the M4 and Parramatta Road via Homebush Bay Drive. 35 km of bicycle paths surround the site and both bicycle storage and shower amenities are available inside.

This is an identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander position. Applicants must be able to demonstrate Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being an Aboriginal person and being accepted in the community as such. Confirmation of Aboriginality is required with appropriate paperwork.

A tertiary qualification recognised by NSW Health in Nursing, Allied Health or the Djirruwang Program.

Current unrestricted NSW Driver License and valid Working with Children Check.
