Job Description
As an ambitious and passionate fundraiser (or Business Development Manager with strong stakeholder management experience), you will provide strategic focus and leadership on designing and implementing fundraising strategies and work closely with University Executive leads to build and maintain relationships with external prospects and donors.
You will join our purpose-led Advancement team at an exciting time. In 2023, Griffith publicly launched its first comprehensive philanthropy campaign, The Campaign to Create a Brighter Future for All, with a ground-breaking dual goal of fundraising and alumni engagement. This last year has been one of milestone celebrations: we’ve reached our target of raising $125 million; we’ve exceeded our alumni engagement goal (reaching a total of 110,000 alumni); and also celebrated 50 years of teaching at Griffith. Having surpassed the campaign goals, we are now considering the next ambitious stage of the Brighter Futures Campaign, and we are excited to bring an exceptional individual into the Advancement portfolio to support further transformative fundraising initiatives.
About you
We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Advancement Manager with demonstrable experience in fundraising, delivering strategic priorities and managing high-level portfolios with stakeholder management. You may be looking for a career change to leverage your transferable skills and expertise in account management, business development and relationship management.
The successful candidate will also:
- Be accustomed to working to targets, driven by impact and outcomes; have excellent people and communication skills and be client focussed.
- Ability to effectively liaise and work with senior executive staff and academics.
- Proactively engage and collaborate with leaders to identify projects that require philanthropic support.
- Ability to build and manage a portfolio of existing and prospective donors.
- Experience in preparing complex philanthropic proposals, campaign materials and stewardship information for major gift prospects and donors.
If you exude the skills, professionalism, drive and attitude to not just make it but make it matter, we want to hear from you!
